Furnishing and Selling Alcohol to Minors

Riverside County Sheriff’s Captain J. Rayls announced today that the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and will be administered by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) to battle alcohol-related harm.

Three Juveniles Rescued from Drainage Canal

On February 6, 2024, at 4:21 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a rescue call near the area of Indian Street and Dracaea Avenue in Moreno Valley. Several 9-1-1 calls were received regarding reports of three juveniles, believed to be 11-13 years old, swept into a nearby water drainage canal.

Double Fatal Traffic Collision

On Monday, February 5, 2024, at 10:35 p.m., deputies assigned to the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a major-injury traffic collision at the intersection of Kitching Street and Cactus Avenue.

Fatal Traffic Collision

On February 3, 2024, at 11:59 p.m., deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a major-injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Deputies and Cal Fire located the pedestrian in the roadway.

Deputy-Involved Shooting

On Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 3:48 a.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 3300 block of Avalon Street in Jurupa Valley, reference a domestic dispute. It was reported a male adult was using a knife to threaten a female while multiple family members were present in the residence.
